They solved the puzzle, dropped the presents off in Duisburg and set off again for the final leg of their journey. Sparky suddenly felt a pang of sadness that their big adventure was about to come to an end.
Sensing his friend’s melancholy mood, Santa said, “Cheer up, Sparky. We’ve had a wonderful time, haven’t we? We’ve been on safari, visited the pyramids and even got a present for Purara in Prague – all while magically staying on schedule. That’s what I call a result!”
Just then, they found themselves getting ready to land in front of the RHQ building in Ratingen.
“Home again,” said Sparky, now looking forward to seeing Purara again.
Santa was also pleased with the way things had gone. He’d get the compass needle remagnetised once he was back at the North Pole. Easier there, he thought. And Mrs. Claus would have no reason to tell him off for being home late, which was always a bonus.
With a big smile on his face, Sparky then told the staff that Santa had one last surprise for them.
There was to be a Big Fat Niterra RHQ Christmas Quiz – and a bit of a party, too.
The staff immediately burst into applause. But Sparky held up his hand to quieten the crowd and then said, “Hold your horses, folks! Before the quiz can start, you’ll have to solve a puzzle, too. Here’s your challenge.”
